June 12, FG technology innovation efforts in retrospect
Now that democracy day has come and gone, let’s cast our mind back to some efforts taken by the Nigerian government to foster technology innovation in the country.
Of recent, in this month, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said technology innovation could provide the way out to our socio-economic problems.
However, Twenty-five business tycoons have been chosen to create the ideas of solving the problems facing the humanity in the sphere of existence, especially in the life of the people who are living in North-East zone of the country.
At the inauguration of the Notht-East Humanitarian innovation Hub in Yola which focused on the support of the ideas to fight against the challenges and confrontations facing health and education sectors of the country.
The Vice President Osinbanjo, revealed that they were taking steps at creating innovation centres in Lagos and Abuja likewise in the six geo-political zones with the view of crowd sourcing ideas and solutions.
He said further that this the only way forward for Nigeria is innovation and technology. This is one of those centres which you must create opportunities for some of us to sit somewhere and think.
Moreover, Martin Babale, the Adamawa state Deputy Governor has said, the idea corresponded with the state government’s empowerment programmes.
He then commended the FG and its security agencies for restoring peace to the state, and for providing suitable and enabling environment for business to flourish.
